I always want to donate blood. I set a target that I want to donate blood when I reach my 21 since I failed to do so during National Service Programme when I was 18. Maybe, it's not the right time yet.
Regarding organ donation, I am only exposed to it when I joined a charity work in Brickfield Buddhist Temple. One thing came to my thought, we can help others even we are no longer alive.
One day, I embarked a conversation with my family on organ donation and stated my wish to be an organ donor.
Mum 1st respond : Are you crazy? Followed by grandma : Choy choy choy!
Both of them think that I'm still young and shouldn't say this. Touch wood. I explained to them that I'll only donate organ when I'm no longer living. Lagi la CHOY CHOY CHOY!!! With mum + grandma's non-stop Choy choy choy...I looked at papa innocently, he threw one line 'I have no objection, but don't invovle me in your discussion, PANTANG." O.o"
I knew this issue is sensitive to them especially mum + grandma. But I hope my family knows what I'm doing, what's the purpose I'm doing it. I felt that they don't support me.
Maybe someday they will, when they understand it. I hope so.
